Data Analyst III - Metrics Development

How will this role have an impact?

We are looking for a Data Analyst III to join our Analytics Insights and Reporting team. This role will support the execution of the data enrichment capabilities of the Government and Commercial lines of business. Our team is composed of highly motivated report developers and analytics-oriented people that aim to leverage the company’s data to drive insights for our clients and push forward high-quality data and reporting solutions.

The ideal candidate thrives on the opportunity to collect and assimilate data and has a passion to learn while working closely with other analysts, engineers, and customer facing teams to support decision-making and build innovative products that help people live better lives.

This role will report to our Director of Reporting.

What will you do?

  • Develop new metrics and benchmarks based on requirements gathered in partnership with other analytic teams and stakeholders.
  • Use statistical methods and advanced programming techniques to ensure metrics are well defined and match to the customer’s goals and desired outcomes documented during the discovery process.
  • Communicate findings and new developments to internal stakeholders through presentations and documentation.
  • Seek and analyze trends and patterns across clients and populations to assist in product management and development.
  • Strive to be capable in:
    • Clojure
    • PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake
    • Amazon Web Services
    • Collaborating across disciplines
    • Mentorship and Presenting Technical Information

 

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of business analysis, data analysis, data science or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience developing advanced SQL and Python scripts.
  • Experience with various types of healthcare data: claims, value-based, quality, provider relationships or fee for service reimbursements.
  • Knowledge of healthcare utilization metrics (length of stay, readmissions, ed utilization, etc.)
  • Familiar with data modeling techniques (ERDs, schemas, etc.) and data engineering concepts (ETL, Pipelines, Data Warehousing, etc.).
  • Experience in the Agile development framework preferred
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, mutual respect and accountability to others; ability to build partnerships and foster collaboration. 
  • Comfortable thinking about data and systems.
  • Preferred experience (one or more):
    • Database querying and data analysis
    • Scripting in Python or similar language
    • Requirements gathering and writing in an analytics environment
