As a Data Analytics Engineer at Noodle, you would build analytics products to inform strategic decision making, both internally and for our university partners. Our products help senior leaders understand successes and opportunities across all parts of the student journey, from engagement with our online marketing materials through enrollment, all the way to graduation. This role is responsible for collaboratively building data analytics pipelines and dashboards for multiple stakeholders.

As our Data Analytics Engineer, you will:

    • Transform data using SQL and dbt to power our analytics products
    • Write automated tests, create technical documentation, and perform code reviews
    • Build Tableau visualizations to inform cross-functional stakeholder business decisions
    • Translate high-level product requirements into technical requirements
    • Identify new data sources for reports and develop ingestion processes
    • Work with stakeholders to clarify business rules, create functional requirements, and implement
    • Create documentation for training and user guides and incorporate end-user feedback
    • Working collaboratively to ensure consistent and performant approaches for analytical code reviews.
    • Understanding business challenges and sourcing the most appropriate data sets
    • Overlapping working hours: 10 AM - 13:30 PM Eastern Time (4 pm - 7:30 pm SAST)

You have:

    • 5-7 years of relevant previous experience
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications/experience, quantitative field preferred
    • Experience using SQL to build data pipelines
    • Experience creating visualizations in Tableau or similar BI tools
    • Experience using git for collaboration
    • Experience working cross-functionally to develop data products
    • Experience analyzing data from digital marketing, CRM, SIS or LMS tools
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills 
    • Critical and analytical thinking skills with strong problem-solving abilities
    • Experience designing metrics that align with dimensions, decisions, and activities relevant to the business processes being described by the data
    • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment
    • Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail
    • Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
    • Experience using Snowflake is a plus
