Data Analytics Engineer

Job Description Overview:

The Data Analytics Engineer will be building data models to track the performance of our business, providing insights to stakeholders to make decisions, and automate processes to alleviate manual day-to-day work. On this growing team, you have the opportunity to help shape our data & analytics strategy and unleash the power of data at TOCA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand our data warehouse with clean data for analysis
  • Use data to provide support new and existing analyses
  • Communicate results and recommendations clearly to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Drive change in usage of data by surfacing insights to stakeholders
  • Build, deliver, and maintain dashboards and reports
  • Help improve our internal processes and standards for high-scale data infrastructure
  • Conduct deep dives on data to identify and resolve data integrity issues
  • Provide QA and feedback for other team members work

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Experience using Python/R and SQL to drive business insights
  • Proficient at writing performant SQL
  • Experience using Excel/Google Sheets for analysis
  • Strong knowledge of data warehouses and business intelligence tools
  • Clear and direct communication skills about complex, technical topics
  • A data curious mindset - you instinctively seek new and existing data, question it, explore it, and know how to communicate your findings
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written communication skills for documenting work for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to be able to work with autonomously and on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfort working with a fully remote, globally distributed company
  • Prior experience or the drive to work for a fast-paced and growing company
  • Experience working with our data stack: snowflake, dbt, tableau preferred
  • Experience working with other data technologies: Fivetran, Hubspot, Google Analytics preferred

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an analytical/quantitative background or equivalent experience (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Physics, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Experience within the sports or fitness industry preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience working directly with an analytics role

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
