Department Overview

ITS Knowledge and Corporate Systems is a department within Information Technology Services that includes data warehousing, web services, corporate systems, the project management office and external services. The data warehouse group supports corporate-wide business intelligence needs. The web services group develops web applications as well as supporting the Children's internet and intranet sites. The corporate systems group develops and maintains PeopleSoft applications, including Finance, HR and Materials Management, and the Kronos application. The project management office provides direction and support for projects across Information Technology Services.

Position Summary

The data engineer will be a critical role in supporting business and value analytics capabilities for the organization. This experienced programmer will actively contribute to projects by ensuring that the data platform provides appropriate information in a way that meets the needs of analysts and clinical/business owners. This role is responsible for facilitating efficient and effective analysis and empowering users with multiple data types - clinical, claims, financial, external - leveraged through Children's Modern Data Platform, a HealtheIntent EDW and other platforms as needed. This position requires knowledge of data extraction and manipulation techniques, data warehouse platform architecture, relational and parallel processing databases and big data structures.

The data engineer will partner closely with operational leaders in Value Based Care and other Business Intelligence areas, as well as other IT partners. In addition, this person needs to build relationships with key stakeholders, serve as an expert in multiple data sources, and implement sustainable, repeatable solutions. The individual is expected to contribute to the team's knowledge base and improve on best practices. The individual will also provide operational support for organizational data needs such as adhoc and scheduled reporting.
