The Opportunity:
We, at Flywire, are seeking a Data Engineer to join our growing global team and enable Flywire to make the most of our data. Beyond reporting and analysis, the data we manage is used for training AI/ML and pushing directly back into our business applications. Whether it’s streaming events or batching, we are always tackling something exciting. The Data Engineer will:
- Assist in the further development of our Data and Events Platforms
- Optimize our existing streaming applications for resource efficiency and scale.
- Treat data as a product and with rigorous testing to catch issues before they reach users
- Work with and support company-wide data science/ML initiatives
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- 5+ years of experience in a Data or Software Engineering role
- Strong proficiency in Java, CI/CD, Docker, SQL
- Experience with data streaming frameworks (ex. Beam/Flink/Spark)
- Experience with streaming infrastructure (ex. Kinesis/PubSub/Rabbitmq)
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse is preferred (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift)
- Ability to communicate and follow up with internal stakeholders in a timely manner and excellent attention to detail.
- Fluency in English, as it's the official language of the company
