The future of fitness lies in data, and we’re looking for a Data Scientist to help usher in the next phase of growth for Fitbod. Data analysis is a core competency at Fitbod, and you will work with a leadership team with broad experience in Data Science and a proven record of turning health and activity data into concrete fitness guidance.

Responsibilities

    • Measuring and monitoring core business metrics such as active users, customer retention, subscriber acquisition costs, and customer lifetime value.  
    • Identifying North Star metrics for measuring the impact of product, marketing and business features/decisions, using data insights to propose next steps on the company roadmap
    • Doing deep data dives into workout histories in order to derive insights into user behavior. Leveraging these insights to identify opportunities to optimize algorithm recommendations
    • Influencing other teams (Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, etc) through presentations of data-centric reports, communicating the current and projected state of the business
    • Analyzing results of A/B tests, communicate hypothesis testing’s conclusions to non-technical teams
    • Building and maintaining dashboards that effectively communicate data insights  
    • Working primarily on GCP, with a data stack that includes: Airflow, Big Query, Python and Tableau
    • Automating analyses, model predictions/forecasts, and dashboards via our ETL framework using Python and SQL

Minimum Qualifications

    • Fluency in Python, including libraries such as Pandas and Numpy
    • Fluency in SQL
    • Cloud Computing: basic understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP), including the ability to ssh into a vm and develop remotely.
    • Solid understanding of statistical inference (e.g. hypothesis testing, regressions), experimental design, and analysis.
    • Compose reports that apply statistical and econometric models on large datasets.
    • 1+ years of experience with Python and/or PySpark conducting Supervised Learning, Regression Analysis and Time Series Analysis
    • 1+ years of experience communicating the results of analyses with product and leadership teams to influence the strategy of the product
    • B.S or higher in Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related field

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience productionizing ML Models
    • Experience with Spark and PySpark
    • Experience with Airflow
    • Experience with Flask
    • Given that you will work across a variety of domains in this role, the ideal hire will have some experience in product analytics, marketing, and operations analytics.
    • Fitness-minded, practicing strength-trainer, or possess knowledge about strength-training best practices.

Positions are remote-only, with the option to work from our SF office when it is safe to do so.
