We're a small team of software engineers driving big outcomes with a lot of shared responsibility. Our engineers actively take part in discussions on product, design, user interviews, and more. We're a data-driven team and use data analysis to make informed decisions in key areas like ML feature development, user behavior and cohort trends, and product feature experiments. As a data scientist at Lunchclub you'll...

Build features from start to finish. Improve products and processes by performing data-based measurements and analysis. Work with engineers, designers, and operations across the company to identify areas of improvement and inform critical decisions and ultimately help give our users the ability to meet new people and facilitate transformative connections. Build and improve existing internal tools, helping us maintain our team's high impact on our growing community.

This role could be for you if...

You love problem solving — especially with code.

You have a track record helping teams make decisions using data.

You have a deep understanding of statistics, probability, and causation.

You're a more experienced engineer looking to use your skills to own and build a product that's changing people's lives.

You've had experience working in a small team to deliver a product experiencing rapid growth.

You know how to balance building quickly with building well.

You have some or all of the following:

Robust skills in statistics, probability, and/or machine learning.

2+ years with relational database and querying languages (e.g. SQL).

3+ years experience with scripting languages for pre-processing and statistical analysis (e.g. Python, Pandas, statsmodels, R).

Comfortable working in an AWS environment with strong Linux and command line skills.

Have full stack experience in data collection, aggregation, analysis, visualization, productization, and monitoring of data science products.

Experimental design skills and understanding of causal factors involved in statistics.

Bonus: You're adept with Python/Flask, Docker.
