What you’ll do:

As a Data Scientist Intern, you work on meeting Circle’s goal of becoming the premier platform for tokenizing, investing in and trading of crypto assets. As a part of your job you will design and implement machine learning algorithms that significantly impact results and decision making for risk, compliance, marketing and trading functions at Circle.

What you’ll work on:

  • Evangelize the power of analytics to improve our business and operations
  • Create text-based classification algorithms to help improve customer experience across a range of products offered by Circle.
  • Create machine-learned predictive models that guide our fraud prevention and compliance
  • Become an expert on data sources and flows at Circle, including Bitcoin blockchain analysis
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Tech Ops teams to optimize and simplify the deployment and upgrade process for the models your team builds
  • Identify actionable insights and provide recommendations to cross functional groups

What you'll bring to Circle (Not all required):

  • Currently pursuing MS or PhD with dissertation in a topic related to data science such as machine learning, linear models and so on
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with remote teams,  explain insights/models in an understandable way to non-experts, in both formal presentation and informal group conversations
  • Some experience or coursework applying basic ML to a type of data and or used algorithms to conduct experiments on data. Machine Learning is strongly encouraged 
  • Knowledge of SQL and expertise with at least one scripting language (e.g. Python)
  • Ability to understand business problems and break down into structured analytics projects
  • Self-starter with a curious mindset, enjoy moving at a fast pace, constantly improving your work with little supervision
