We are looking for a Data Scientist to jump start our data science practice area. You should have experience with data initiatives within Federal agencies and/or healthcare (Medicare/Medicaid) data.
Responsibilities
The Data Science Lead will research government challenges that require data-driven solutions. Your goal will be to help our company pursue contract opportunities in the Federal space. As well as build effective data teams and provide oversight to our data science work. Plus if you have a passion for machine-learning, research and the government space.
- Research government challenges and problem spaces
- Experience leading government data “challenges" to win data science engagements
- Connect available data sources to business needs
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Implement quality measures / data cleansing to ensure datasets are ready for analysis
- Knowledge of and ability to:
- Prove data ingest and integration of data from many sources
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Develop dashboards and other innovative reporting to deliver insights gleaned from analysis
- Knowledge and understanding of data pipelines (data process flow, sequencing and storage)
- Propose solutions and strategies including new product development as needed
- Support hiring and professional development efforts to expand our data science capacity, which includes training and mentoring others
- Collaborate with engineering, design and product development teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist
- Experience building or leading teams
- Understanding of machine-learning concepts and operations research
- Advanced knowledge of Python or R
- Advanced knowledge of SQL
- Analytical and business acumen
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- BS/BA, graduate degree, professional certificates or commensurate experience in Data Science or other quantitative fields preferred
- Experience directly interfacing with clients
- At least 5 years experience preferred
Location
We are a completely remote team within the United States. We ask that you have a dedicated work space, computer and fast internet.
Salary Range
$130,000 - $150,000 per year, plus variable compensation
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
