The Data Scientist will be embedded in our giving partner platforms teams and work cross-functionally to help drive experimental initiatives, leverage our understanding of givers behaviors and motivations to improve our fundraising products and grow generosity for our giving partners.

You’ll get to:

  • Use a deep understanding of data, our customers, and our unique industry to concretize ambiguous questions about our products and features into testable hypothesis that can be answered with data  
  • Design experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and impactful conclusions that drives product growth and feature adoption  
  • Define how our teams measure product and features success by developing KPI and other business metrics in collaboration with products, engineering, and leadership   
  • Develop data-informed business insights and work with cross-functional partners to find opportunities for product and business growth  
  • Extracts data from various data sources; performs exploratory data analysis, cleanses, massages, and aggregates data  
  • Provide technical contributions to ongoing initiatives to design and build a scalable and future-proof data infrastructure  
  • Perform data informed customer segmentation to drive product marketing, feature development, business strategy  
  • Complete data and analytic requests from giving partner teams  

You should bring mad skills & experience:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Econometrics, or related field  
  • Advanced experience in SQL and R or Python 
  • Advanced experience with experimental design and statistical methods for causal inference.  
  • Validated experience with data mining, experience with dashboarding/data visualization (e.g., Tableau)  
  • Strong data storytelling: ability to distill interesting and hard-to-find insights into a compelling, concise data story  
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty with messy data to find opportunities and uncover insights
