We are looking for a Developer Advocate with a passion for privacy to help drive our voice in the community, open source strategy, and promote privacy best practices for the community. The successful candidate will serve as an influential technical ambassador to our community with the goal of gaining a following of end users who champion privacy tools and developer workflows within their organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive our open source efforts in collaboration with our Product and Engineering leaders
  • Establish recognition within the Privacy community as a top expert on Synthetic data, anonymizations, and developer tools
  • Provide influential thought leadership to data engineering end users that shape their approach to topics that include, but are not limited to, privacy, operations, and management
  • Speak at Tier 1 industry events
  • Act as a subject matter expert on key trends and technologies that are shaping the direction of the data ecosystem
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop high-impact messaging and content in various forms such as technical demos, blog posts, podcasts, or othersIncrease brand awareness of Gretel as the leading developer focused engineering company

Minimum qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in developer advocacy or evangelism, software engineering, or equivalent
  • Substantial hands-on experience with developer tools, data and machine learning engineering frameworks.
  • Knowledge of DevOps methodologies, tooling and/or cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure)
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning tooling, streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka), training of A.I. models, and developer notebooks
  • Interest privacy engineering and methodologies
  • Demonstrated track record of open source contributions, community engagement, public speaking, and authored content

Preferred qualifications

  • Well-recognized profile within the developer community and privacy ecosystem
  • Previous experience leading or participating in open source decision making
  • Successful track record in influencing adoption of new technologies and/or products
  • Knowledge of engineering, architectures and/or tooling
