Our Ways of Working

We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. 

We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.

What the Role Is

Babylist is looking for a highly experienced and strategic Head of Analytics to build out our Analytics team. The power of Babylist is in our product and the long term relationship we have with our users. We are continuing to improve our core user experience and create new experiences in shopping, health, etc. You will build and develop a team of world class Product & Marketing Analysts that work hand in hand with our product, growth, marketing and engineering teams. Your team is obsessed with business outcomes, e.g. a product analyst cares as much about impacting the user experience as the PM. This is a highly visible leadership position, with consistent c-level strategic and working sessions, you will report directly to the Head of Data.

Who You Are

  • As an analytics leader you have a proven track record (6+ years) in partnering with product and or marketing teams through world class analytical capabilities. You can work cross functionally in strategy development, accounting for tactical needs and/or collaborating on larger strategic initiatives
  • You have a clear and thoughtful process for hiring and developing managers and analysts. You can speak to how you have elevated individual contributors and grown leaders. You understand that the best teams consist of talented people who volunteer to be in your org
  • You are as passionate about driving business impact as your partners in growth, marketing and product. This shows up in your thinking and actions around prioritization, project delivery, hiring etc.. You have the ability to articulate a clear vision, delegate tasks, and motivate your team to achieve business objectives
  • You have built strong data and analytical foundations. You have a strong spidey-sense for when something may be off and can go multiple levels deep into the data (or elsewhere) to find the root cause. You fix issues in a durable and visible way
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate data to all stakeholders; Comfortable interacting at all levels of senior management, including VP, SVP and C-suite is a must
  • You are intimately familiar with technologies ranging from SQL, BI, Behavioral Analytics tooling and leverage them to their full capabilities for recommendations, insights & monitoring

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Build, lead, coach, inspire and drive efficiency in a team of managers and analysts, maintaining an environment of continuous improvement
  • Create and maintain a culture of excellence in which the analytics team acts as a strong multiplier to your stakeholders, caring as much or more about their business impact as your stakeholders
  • Own prioritization of Product & Marketing Analytics. Build trust, through the right prioritization and staffing cross functionally, with your stakeholders
  • Build & maintain foundational dashboards and implement monitoring processes for key KPIs across the product, growth and marketing space
  • Support key stakeholders through analysis and insights, leveraging data to collaborate and lift up their strategies
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team and support them with high quality data & automations as part of their planning process
  • Be a strong partner to your counterpart in BI and Data Engineering on strategic projects to deliver world class analytics

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

The estimated pay range for this role is $208,122.00 - $312,287.00

In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
