As the Director of Applied Data Science & Machine Learning Engineering you will build out and lead our data science and machine learning engineering team to advance our mission at League, helping people live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
You have experience managing and developing data scientists and machine learning engineers and have successfully productionized multiple healthcare data (e.g. EHR, claims, wearables) based machine learning solutions. You also bring to the table deep familiarity and subject matter expertise with healthcare data broadly and with the healthtech/digital health space.
In this role, you will:
- Lead data science & machine learning engineering team and develop key talent
- Execute on League’s data strategy including close partnership and alignment with stakeholders across League and externally
- Drive data product development and delivery of data science and machine learning solutions in the League platform such as personalized health journeys and novel insights into healthcare outcomes
- Identify and execute on future opportunities for data science and machine learning engineering to deliver value for the League platform and for League customers (internally and externally)
About you:
- MSc/PhD in Computer Science/Math/Bioinformatics/Data Science/Epidemiology
- 6+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, data engineering, or machine learning engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience (data engineering, data science, machine learning engineering specific) with health data, specifically medical and pharmacy claims, EHR, and/or data from wearable devices
- 3+ years of experience with deploying or leading deployment of machine learning solutions that leverage healthcare data
- 3+ years of experience directly managing data scientists and/or machine learning engineers
