Who you are

You have a strong technical knowledge of analytics engineering, product analytics, experimentation, data infrastructure, and an incredible vision that fosters cross-functional collaboration and change. You have managed an analytics engineering team within an eCommerce organization that has both web and mobile application products. You have proven leadership in being a thought leader & partner with product organizations: driving decisions with data,  feature prioritization / counterfactuals, and actively participating in product roadmapping. 

You are educated, aware, and opinionated on the BI tooling landscape. In particular, you have experience with data visualization tooling that has components of data governance (ex. Looker, DOMO, Mode). 

You’re passionate about fostering a data culture; creating data products using design thinking that enable 1% improvements across the organization. You’re an active and loud voice of data driven change; you are a proactive partner with senior management in making critical decisions that will set the direction for your organization for years to come! 

Most importantly, you have proven experience leading through other’s growth and development. You’re an empathetic and passionate people leader; who cares deeply about designing opportunities to grow team members at all levels of your organization. You actively participate in the career development of your team members by aligning business opportunities with developmental objectives, purposefully making responsibility vacancies for them to fill, and encouraging team members to be the captain of their own career growth.

What the role is

As the Director of Analytics Engineering you will be a part of the technology team responsible for building world class data products and enabling large teams across the business to move faster and smarter. This role will work with business leaders, product managers, and peers within engineering. This highly visible and strategic position will champion data solutions that leverage our data assets to maximize business value while furthering our competitive advantage.

Lead multiple Analytics Engineering Teams to develop best in class high performing, easy-to-use self-service BI solutions answering both simple and complex business problems.
Collaborate with Data & Analytics Product leaders to develop roadmaps and understand functional areas' current and future measures of success (KPIs / OKRs).

In this role you will:

    • Be a proactive partner with the product organization in understanding the consumer journey with data, supporting counterfactuals for feature prioritization, and driving faster iteration / experimentation
    • Design and implement improvements to existing experimentation / AB testing platform; potentially conduct a build versus buy exercise to achieve Product experimentation capability goals in the most timely and cost efficient manner 
    • Design and implement product management and development processes that improve consistency and agile velocity across the analytics engineering teams 
    • Manage and accelerate analytics careers, build teams, and hire candidates that raise the standard
    • Actively participate in the implementation and utilization of Snowplow for real-time consumer behavior intelligence to inform product design, ad monetization opportunities, and operational insights 
    • Set a strong standard and enforce data modeling best practices in partnership with the data platforms, marketing analytics, and data science teams 
    • Support the design, development, and iterative improvements of monthly business review reporting both within Drizly and the Drizly-UberEats business reviews 
    • Support senior management strategic decision making by actively participating in product, operations, and strategic partnership monthly business reviews and strategy sessions
    • Foster a culture of data by leading through example of the art of the possible by leveraging data to drive 1% improvements and fast iterations with a cross-functional group of stakeholders

For Colorado-based roles: The salary/hourly rate range for this role is $144,700 per year - $170,200 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Drizly's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award, commissions, & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
