As Financial Data Analyst, you will play a key role in driving business decisions and accountability throughout the organization as we continue to scale. Working closely with the Finance team and business leaders across the company, you will have the opportunity to build out our financial planning and performance reporting capabilities.

What you get to do every day

  • Track and analyze financial, business, and key operational metrics to gauge progress towards goals and support data-driven decisions across the organization
  • Be part of a dynamic team that cares and helps you level up your skills
  • Deeply understand how financial data can drive success across every functional team within Human Interest
  • Work with cross-functional leaders to understand their data needs, define the right key metrics, and uncover and answer the business’ most critical questions
  • Build the core data reports that key stakeholders interact with on a daily, weekly or quarterly basis
  • Create dashboards and other self-service tools to empower finance team to answer their own data questions, monitor performance, and leverage data to make decisions
  • Work with business partners to identify the key metrics for their product or vertical and help integrate data into their day to day operations
  • Work with engineers and product managers to set data tracking requirements
  • Actively suggest changes to help our customers and business based on a deep understanding of your product area
  • Leverage quantitative techniques to provide insights that cannot be gleaned from dashboards
  • Contribute to the budgeting processes and variance analyses in partnership with functional leaders and accounting team 
  • Develop new metrics and performance reporting as our business evolves
  • Build and own detailed financial models to evaluate business risks, opportunities and tradeoffs under various operating scenarios 
  • Collaborate with business partners to support strategic discussions and analyses
  • Prepare materials for the Board of Directors, investors and other external stakeholders
  • Support future corporate finance activities

What you bring to the role

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in analytics or data science in finance, product, operations, or marketing specific roles
  • Intermediate level SQL skills
  • Experience using Tableau
  • A desire to give stakeholders a clean, easy and useful experience with data
  • BA/BS in behavioral science (economics, psychology, etc.) with a strong statistical focus or a BA/BS in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, or natural sciences
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis
  • Desire to help people better utilize data
