Media Cause is looking for a freelance Data Analyst to help accelerate the growth and impact of organizations doing good in the world.

This role will start as a contract role with 10-20 hours per week and has the potential to move to a full time hire. The hourly rate will commensurate with experience. What You’ll Do:

  • Establish flawless semi-automated or automated reporting dashboards for clients, showcasing marketing KPIs and progress to goals across a variety of channels
  • Design lifecycle-forward data measurement strategies and plans to drive the evaluation of fundraising, paid media, social media, website and/or, email strategies
  • Conceptualize and implement scalable data structures to support multiple client reports with minimal redundancy
  • Support client teams with timely campaign reporting during busy times of year, such as the EOY fundraising season
  • Ensure that all data projects you work on are fully QA’d and have detailed and accessible documentation, so that any staff member can pick up where you left off
  • Provide guidance on data collection, analysis, and management internally to empower all Media Cause employees to bring data-driven values into our client work

Most time in your position will be spent directly working with clients and client teams on data measurement strategies, dashboard implementation and ad-hoc data analyses. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your analytical skills to a variety of marketing channels, such as paid media, email marketing, SEO, social media, and website optimization.

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in marketing analytics across non-profit and/or digital marketing industries. Bonus points for prior agency experience.

Skills & Experience Required

  • 2-3 years of experience producing error-free reports and providing insights on paid media campaigns, email campaigns, social media campaigns and website optimization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Experience building dashboards from scratch in Google Data Studio, Tableau, PowerBI or another data visualization software
  • Experience with scripting languages such as R or Python
  • Experience in analyzing and drawing insights from Google Analytics, GA4 or another analytics platform
  • Experience working in and extracting data sets from a variety of CRMs, advertising platforms, email platforms and social media platforms
  • Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills with a sharp attention to detail for catching errors or abnormalities in datasets
  • Ability to discuss data analysis insights and processes to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working across multiple teams at once in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in both independent and collaborative environments
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Passionate about the role that data plays in driving success and growing impact for nonprofit missions

While not required, we also invite candidates with the following skills to apply (or interest in learning):

  • Experience analyzing A/B or multivariate optimization experiments
  • Experience working with ETL tools or data connectors (such as Airbyte or Supermetrics)
