Machine learning powers all our cutting edge features, from our automated temperature based sleep optimization to the insights we provide our customers, Eight Sleep enables them to dramatically improve their sleep through technology. We are looking for someone who is excited about using ML techniques to impact the health and wellbeing of millions of people and to build a world-class team of experts.

How you'll contribute

• Managing and growing a team of ML engineers and scientists to achieve Eight Sleep’s vision
• Driving results applying ML to core product features
• Teaching machines how to use sensor data to classify and optimize sleep and to diagnose different health conditions
• Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with academia
• Defining the direction of the R&D efforts of the company

What you'll need to succeed 

• 10+ years of experience between academia and industry (2+ years in a leadership role)
• Proven track record in applied machine learning
• Lead teams responsible for both mission critical ML-based features and incubation projects
• Experience building and scaling Machine Learning Infrastructure
• Ability to attract world class talent from industry and academia
• B.S. in Computer Science, Math or Physics. M.S. or PhD is preferred
