Supply Management Market Insight Lead analysts leverage data to paint a clear picture of supply markets, and where the greatest opportunities lie for our managed spend. Our team translates insights and macro trends to key supply categories. We provide recommendations for where and how category strategies need to adjust based on the evolution of our business and industry.

As the Market Insights lead you will contribute towards sizable cost savings for the Red Cross and improve total value with a focus on sustainability, supplier innovation and diversity.

This analyst team has always been viewed by Red Cross leadership as the pipeline for developing future leaders. Successful candidates in this role have been promoted to serve in management or positions that implement strategic initiatives with suppliers within Supply Management.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will have developed communication skills, both oral and written with strong business and technical acumen. In this 100% virtual remote procurement opportunity, you will help scope, design, and execute a variety of supply market insight projects and be a part of collaborative and accomplished community.

Key Job Outcomes and Deliverables

• Analyze business and market trends to recommend new strategies for sourcing.

• Develop cost models that will be used for executing negotiation strategies.
• Develop business case presentations that are the basis for influencing change in how third-party investments are made.
• Develop market, industry, and supply segmentation as a part of designing category strategies
• Develop market intelligence solutions used as the basis for making business decisions/ improvements.
• Using spend analytics, play a key role in segmentations and analyses to develop sourcing/ category strategies.
• Participate in supplier relationship management programs to leverage the relationships with strategic suppliers.
• Assist in value analysis/ value engineering to identify innovations that can create value for the organization.
• Participate in supplier reviews and/or audits and assist in the execution of negotiation strategies.
• May support other procurement duties and ad hoc requests as needed.

Requirements

• BS in Finance, Accounting, Supply Management, Engineering, Economics or a Bachelor’s degree with an analytical curriculum.  
• 5 to 8 years of analytical experience supporting a company or non-profit. An MBA or Master’s degree may be an acceptable as an alternative to a portion of the experience.
• Relevant proven technical experience may be an acceptable alternative to the above specified degree. If the candidate has technical experience and a bachelor’s degree, these credentials may be an acceptable alternative.
• Adept communication skills.
• 2+ years of insights/market research experience is preferred
• Experience analyzing marketplace data and applying macro trends is preferred
• Ability to synthesize findings from multiple sources to tell a holistic, influential “what, why, so what” story and start to translate into insights

The salary range for this position is: $90,000 - $110,000
