We seek an experienced Data Engineering Lead to join our cross-functional product team and enhance our data infrastructure capabilities. This role is pivotal in supporting advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions at Superside.

Reporting to the Head of Data and Analytics, you will collaborate closely with analytics engineers, data engineers, developers, and operational teams to define and implement our data strategy and infrastructure.

What you'll do

    • Construct and maintain scalable, robust data pipelines that underpin analytics and machine learning applications, focusing on efficiency and data quality
    • Oversee the ingestion, storage, and processing of extensive datasets, ensuring consistency and accessibility to support advanced data strategies
    • Enhance data operations using leading technologies such as Snowflake, Airbyte, and Airflow to enhance cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency
    • Partner with analytics engineering and product teams to understand data requirements and craft technical solutions that drive strong data usability and access across the company
    • Provide technical guidance and career development mentorship to the data team, promoting best practices in data management and adherence to data governance standards
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in data technology and continuously introduce enhancements to our data systems and practices

What you’ll need to succeed

    • Skilled in ETL processes, data modeling, and metadata management, with a good grasp of IaC principles and proficient use of technologies like Terraform for infrastructure management
    • Experienced with CI/CD processes and cloud platforms, particularly AWS
    • Proficient with Python and SQL, understand software engineering principles with a good grasp of distributed job/query optimization (execution plans, partitioning, and auto-scaling)
    • Preferably some experience with Dagster, Prefect, or similar
    • Deep familiarity with modern data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data processing systems
    • Ability to write and review technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy
    • Experienced in developing junior data talent, mentoring junior engineers, and effectively steering projects to align with business goals while seeking growth opportunities
    • Excellent English communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and fostering collaborative problem-solving
    • A trusting, resourceful, ego-free, and kind team player personality
    • Skills in operating in a global, remote-first environment, demonstrating a proactive and self-directed work culture
