Job Summary:

As part of the Data Science team at Hello Alice, you will play an important role in driving our Data Science mission forward. We build tools and products using Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) that empower small business owners. By using data, machine learning, and AI we augment human intelligence and cognition for optimal decision-making. We strive to evangelize on the importance of being a data-driven organization and use data to tell stories and uncover insights.

You’ll report directly to the Director of Data Science.

Role and Responsibilities:

Here’s what you’ll be working on day-to-day, but as a nimble organization that puts our small business community at the forefront, flexibility is key, and other responsibilities may arise.

• This position will support all projects within Hello Alice that use ML or AI-based methods to enable scalable and repeatable model deployments.
• This position reports to the Director of Data Science, but you will work closely with a team of data scientists, a data engineer, and the Engineering team to build pipelines, feedback loops, ML workflows, and APIs to be consumed by the Product team and internal business partners.
• Deploy machine learning and AI models built by the Data Science team into production and work in collaboration with the Engineering and Product teams to enable this
• Create tools, processes, or workflows that enable our Data Scientists to operate more efficiently as well as providing the ability for other teams to interact with our AI and Machine Learning models

Required Skills and Experiences:

• Degree in a related field such as Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics or Data Science
• 1-3 years of experience within MLOps
• Basic knowledge of statistics to include linear and logistic regression, supervised machine learning and time series forecasting
• Knowledge of building statistical, machine learning, NLP, and AI models
• Demonstrated knowledge of working with relational databases and writing SQL scripts
• Ability to set up data pipelines for moving and processing large amounts of data
• Understanding of various aspects of data preparation, feature engineering model training
• Experience creating microservices or scheduling ML models to run in batch as well as with machine learning deployment and maintenance

• Experience with tools and programming languages to include Docker, Microsoft Azure Machine Learning, MLFlow, Amazon Sagemaker, or Databricks and GitHub.
• Cloud databases including Google Cloud platform, AWS, Microsoft Azure
• R or Python and SQL experience is required
• Ability to identify a business problem, define and create a solution and convert the solution into an insight feature
