We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. 

We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.

What the Role Is

We are excited to announce the opening for our first Media Analyst position! We are looking for an exceptional analyst who knows how to monitor, synthesize, and report on various media channels, including user engagement and content across platforms and our app. This role is expected to interpret data and trends to inform our content strategy and optimize our partnerships offering, driving revenue and engagement across the media business. This role will have a meaningful impact on the org by helping identify internal, industry and macro trends that affect our customers and partners. We're seeking a candidate with a blend of brand insight and analytical prowess to identify innovative opportunities and who has experience crafting compelling narratives leveraging our extensive proprietary data. Reporting to the Director of Brand & PR, you will be supporting a broad scope of marketing initiatives including brand partnerships, content, and press narratives. If you devour every Emily Oster book (especially the citations), dream about analytics dashboards, can see the diamond in a sea of numbers, and find yourself wondering “what’s the actual data to support that?” multiple times a day we would love to meet you. 

Who You Are

  • 6-8 years of experience within an analytical role focused on media, partnerships and communications 
  • Deep understanding of media landscape and content measurement, including user behavior, DAU/MAU benchmarks and content attribution 
  • Experience working with sales and partnerships teams to increase media revenue, including responding to RFPs, building campaign reviews, and media kits 
  • Expertise in storytelling and can turn data and numbers into compelling narratives relevant for PR initiatives
  • Recent experience shaping data-based communications, PR, and media for a consumer facing brand 
  • Excellent written communication skills, demonstrated through clear, concise, and engaging content across various platforms and formats
  • Strong SQL & Excel fluency: ability to work with large datasets and advanced queries
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Sigma, Excel/Google Sheets and other BI platforms 
  • Ability to pull complex data and and parse through to pull out key insights and trends for multiple audiences including: internal stakeholders, consumers, and advertisers 
  • Ability to identify consumer trends and back into the data to tell a compelling story
  • Ability to connect trends on-platform and off-platform
  • Strong understanding and involvement in social media platforms. You understand its impact on the brand narrative and are excited to stay up to date on ever-evolving trends

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Support the sales and media revenue team with meaningful data and reporting for partners, with the goal of increasing ad spend 
  • Measure and analyze content performance and optimize editorial content impact to overall business goals 
  • Collaborate with the PR team to identify and develop compelling stories that highlight our brand's unique value proposition
  • Use data analysis techniques to uncover insights about our audience, market trends, and competitor strategies.
  • Translate complex data into compelling narratives that resonate with various stakeholders, including users, partners, and media outlets.
  • Craft written narratives in both the form of quotes and articles supported by data that illustrate how Babylist is a trend leader.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in storytelling and data analysis, incorporating new techniques and tools into our approach.
  • Work closely with our editorial team to concept and share data-driven owned stories
  • Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

The estimated pay range for this role is $133,007.00 - $199,407.00

In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
