Databand is a fast growing startup that’s building an exceptional product for the DataOps world. We’re looking for a talented and creative Product Evangelist to join Databand’s marketing team!
We are searching for a product advocate and community builder – with deep knowledge in the DataOps industry – who is super excited to increase Databand’s brand awareness, strengthen relationships within our industry and educate the data community with the value that our amazing product provides!
What you’ll do:
- Focus on increasing Databand ‘s presence within the data community and developing the strategy for lead generation through product evangelism and community engagement
- Determine our product’s value and competitive advantages and showcase it to our audience, with simple and clear messaging
- Become a Databand and industry expert and educate our audience by generating relevant content such as technical guides, webinars, product video tutorials, sales enablement, and other marketing materials
- Develop business relationships and collaborate with other big and small players in the industry – search for new partnership opportunities and build Databand’s partnership program
- Engage with data engineering communities through different channels, such as slack groups, forums, etc, and continuously search for new ways to grow our reach to our audience
- Manage and develop various new data engineering communities hosted by Databand (Apache Airflow meetup group, etc)Develop and manage Databand’s “Everyday Data Engineering”(EDE) blog series, EDE community, and EDE meetup groups
- Work closely with other departments such as product, R&D, and sales team in order to gain more knowledge on our audience, product and customer needs
- Develop Databand’s event strategy and present at webinars or industry events about the amazing product we have and value we provide
- Proofread content generated and make sure materials written are technically accurate, marketable, and aligned with our messaging and voice guidelines
- Be data driven, evaluate your work’s impact, and continuously optimize work to achieve better results
Operations:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in English – superb writing, grammar and spelling
- 2+ years of experience writing content for B2B audience
- Experience working with SaaS/technology companies
- Exceptional business development skills
- Capable of turning complex, technical concepts into simple and clear messaging
- Experience in writing content for both technical and marketing purposes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- You’re a team player and collaborate well with teams internally and externally
- Super motivated to learn and become an expert to educate the data industry
- Comfortable presenting to live audience and networking with community (in person and online)
- True passion for technology-focused writing, with a desire to create content that educates and informs our audience
- Self-starter with an ability to own projects and work independently
- Great with time management and deadlines – can turn around projects quickly
- You’re excited to take on new challenges and responsibilities
Huge plus:
- Previously worked in the data industry and have deep knowledge in DataOps
- Familiar with tools such as Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Snowflake, and other modern data stack tools
- Previously worked in the B2B open source environment
