Product Manager – Forecasting and ML

 

Role and Responsibilities

Legion uses AI and Machine Learning to reduce the time it takes managers to schedule employees, improve employee satisfaction and optimize labor spend for employers. The Forecasting and ML product manager leads the design of applying ML and statistical forecasting to continuously improve all Legion solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understands how all Legion solutions are used by customers to identify ways AI/ML and advanced forecasting can improve our products.
  • Provide vision toward unlocking Legion’s AI/ML to be more readily leveraged by Legion customers
  • Define requirements for solutions to be built
  • Partner with UX designers to create mockups and prototypes, validate the solution with customers, users, and internal stakeholders
  • Work with the development scrum team to ensure successful implementation with high standards of reliability, quality, usability
  • Create product release notes, launch materials, and demo with marketing and pre-sales teams
  • Work with Customer Success to ensure successful customer adoptions, support pre-sales activities and customer implementations questions

 Professional Background and Experience

  • Experience forecasting demand drivers in retail and hospitality (supply chain, customers, etc.)
  • Understands when to apply ML vs statistical analysis to solve a forecasting scenario
  • Proficient with basic forecasting methods such as moving average, simple linear regression and multiple linear regression; and comfortable applying and explaining complex forecasting methods such as triple exponential smoothing.
  • Experience defining product requirements - especially around forecasting and ML
  • Familiarity with the agile development process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics
  • 3+ years forecasting retail/hospitality demand drivers
  • 3+ years retail/hospitality/supply chain operations management is a plus!
  • 1+ year experience in product management
  • Proficiency working with large data sets in tools like Excel, SQL, SPSS and/or R
  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Productboard
