The role of the Sales Business Analyst is to provide business intelligence to a highly talented and fast-paced Sales team. The Sales Business Analyst will work collaboratively with business partners to design and implement tools and provide data analytics used to lead the implementation of strategic business decisions within the Sales organization. The role includes conducting and delivering accurate and actionable information through collaborative research, ad-hoc analysis, and development of qualitative and quantitative reporting as well as the visualization representing underlying data. Successful candidates will work cross-functionally with key business partners across the organization to support strategies and goals.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead analysis for Sales and collaborative partners. This includes gathering, scrubbing, analyzing, and interpreting data while developing insights from the analysis.
  • A storyteller that can synthesize analysis and develop clear communication to business partners. Applies expertise in data mining, quantitative analysis, and data visualization to tell a compelling story behind the numbers.
  • Develop, analyze and publish executive weekly/monthly dashboard (graphs, tables, etc.), proactively highlight trends and key focus areas trends to facilitate sound decision making.
  • Download Spins & Nielsen data into a useable format, develop reporting, build deck, and present to stakeholders.
  • Partner with team on how best to problem solve for an approach and the data sets and methodology required.
  • Develop and maintain data mapping, including regular cleansing
  • Serve as subject matter expert and thought leader for applicable analytics for assigned business matters.
  • Build new and enhance current reporting and analytics aimed at providing visibility to the business performance
  • Create standardized data analytics templates and visualizations shared throughout the sales organization.
  • Consult with business stakeholders to identify data sources, required data elements, and data validation.
  • Work in a fast-pace agile environment driving adoption of principles with business partners
  • Drive the analytic needs of the business by working with key business stakeholders to develop well defined reporting requests that drive business value
  • Fosters continuous improvement by developing and providing benchmarking analysis.
  • Uses a wide variety of database applications and analytical tools.
  • Supports end users, problem solving, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop ad hoc analysis and reports for special on-demand data requests.
  • Train others on use of key tools and reports.
  • Serve as subject matter expert of applicable tools, databases, and systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Statistics or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in Data Analytics, Data Engineering or Business Intelligence. SQL experience is a plus.
  • Mastery of Syndicated Data (Spins/Nielsen/IRI data)
  • Proficiency in the following required: Microsoft Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint; Data querying; Bedrock or related visual presentation/reporting tool.
    • Subject matter expert in Excel, specifically complex formulas, macros, and pivot tables.
    • MS Access is a plus.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports.
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously; must possess the confidence in delivering work product that is accurate and complete.
  • Comfortable taking loosely defined business questions and translating them into clearly defined technical/data/report specifications
  • Ability to present ideas, conclusions, and recommendations with clarity.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Solid public speaking skills; able to present ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross functional team as well as independently, but proactively ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to identify gaps and provide solutions
  • Ability to establish effective professional business relationships with all levels of users.
  • Experience in CPG, Natural, Retail, Foodservice, or related industries with large datasets and transactional data preferred.
  • Expected travel 10%
