What you’ll do

  • Maintain and evolve the suite of analytical assets our sales leaders, managers, and associates rely on everyday. 
  • Partner closely with Sales & Success leaders to understand their biggest challenges and develop data assets to unlock efficiency and growth. 
  • Own the process of setting business targets and measuring performance against those targets. 
  • Become the de facto expert on our sales processes, systems, and data. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Enablement, Data Science, Marketing, Finance, and IT to advance projects and initiatives that move our business forward.

What you’ll bring

Sprout Social is looking for a resourceful, customer-centric, self-starter who is passionate about solving hard problems and is excited to roll up their sleeves to help our sales teams maximize their potential. The most successful candidates will have experience translating business needs to analytical deliverables, including designing dashboards and making data-backed recommendations. Above all else, we want to hire a great teammate who thrives on collaboration to join a group of smart, driven, and highly-engaged analysts.

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • 1+ year as a business analyst supporting a department such as Sales, Operations, Product, or Finance OR an advanced degree in data or business analytics with relevant project or intern experience
  • Ability to work with, organize, audit, query, and manipulate large data sets using SQL or Excel 
  • Ability to create data visualizations & interactive dashboards in a BI Platform (preferably Tableau)

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Track record of driving projects from start to finish 
  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to keep various projects and work streams in flight at the same time
  • Experience translating business needs into analytical projects and deliverables
  • Effective, clear, and concise communication skill

How you’ll grow

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

  • Experience Sprout’s in-depth onboarding, covering everything from our company mission and values, hearing directly from executives and founders, to deep training on our products and the value that Sprout delivers to our customers
  • Make a plan with your manager to set initial priorities, align on expectations for your role, plant goalposts for your career, and learn about Sprout’s approach to Sales Operations.
  • Get to know stakeholders throughout our Sales and Customer Success teams as well as cross-functional teams.
  • Become familiar with our sales environment, tech stack, and sales processes.

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

  • Build connections with members from other teams through active networking and community building
  • Develop an understanding of the objectives and challenges of the business function(s) you are supporting
  • Learn the current state of our performance metrics, processes, reporting, and documentation.
  • Create strong relationships with the leaders and managers in the business area you support, as well as cross-functional partners.

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

  • Have your first performance conversation with your manager, where you’ll discuss your accomplishments in your role and work together to build goals for your professional growth
  • Own the suite of analytical resources for your department; develop a backlog of projects to address open business needs
  • Inform processes, policies, and procedures for the department you support, backing recommendations with data

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

  • Find ways to automate, simplify, and evolve performance measurement in ways that allow the business to effectively grow and scale.
  • Develop new and interesting ways to analyze and visualize the data to help inform future decisions and strategies.
  • Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change your team in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet.

Of course what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. However, we are not set up in all states, so please look at the drop-down box in our application to see whether your state is listed. Few roles require an office setting. If your position requires a physical presence in a Sprout office, it will be evident in the job listing and your offer letter.

The base pay range for this role is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 USD annually. Individual base pay is based on various factors, including relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In addition to base pay, some Sales and Success roles can earn sales incentives.

Sprout’s compensation ranges are intentionally broad to allow for our team members' growth within their role. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.

Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit).  Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
