We are a remote-first company, so you can work from anywhere. For this role we prefer to have an overlap of at least 4 hours with GMT+4 timezone.

The Role:

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will work directly with our Data Analytics Manager as part of our growing analytics team. You will be shaping the analytics engineering function by creating elegant data models and flows to be further used downstream in BI and reporting, Data Science, Exploratory analysis and Operational Analytics. You will be following software engineering best practices such as version control and continuous integration, developing intuitive, tested, and documented data models.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to understand business requirements
  • Build comprehensive and elegant data models using SQL and dbt, with an eye towards performance, maintainability, data quality and scalability
  • Partner with product engineering team to ensure the capture of every bit of data that increases the analytical value of downstream data products
  • Be a proactive advocate of identifying the different sources of data and work towards integrating to the data warehouse and creating a single source of truth
  • Improve data quality by bringing a deep understanding of what business needs into the transformation process, and employing the rigor of software engineering to analytics code
  • Create and maintain data documentation and definitions to ensure company-wide metric definition alignment and data literacy
  • Provide analytics engineering expertise to the analytics team through code reviews, pairing, and training to help deliver optimal, DRY, and scalable data models and queries.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of relevant working experience in data analytics, preferably in a fast-paced company
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in Python and SQL
  • Experience with the T in ELT, by creating scalable workflows to clean, transform, merge, and enrich to increase the analytical value of the data
  • Experience with schema design, data modeling and data warehouse design frameworks & techniques
  • Experience working with modern data warehouses, such as AWS Redshift
  • Experience in analytics engineering with dbt
  • Knowledge of version control and GitHub actions
  • Have a creative non-linear thinking
  • Have an attention to detail and desire for end-to-end ownership of deliverables
  • Self-motivated, proactive and autonomous; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative with a positive attitude and strong sense of empathy
  • Fluency in English

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with PySpark
  • Experience with data orchestration tools
  • Familiarity with agile development framework
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools.
