About the Role: 

The Boston Scientific Urology Marketing team uses data-driven insights to fuel judicious growth for our business. We believe that data should never exist in a vacuum; instead, it should be put to work to bring the best ideas and stories to our stakeholders. To help with this, we’re looking for an outstanding Senior Commercial Programs Data Analyst – an individual who can assess massive data sets, make insightful cross-platform recommendations, and provide judicious ideas to stakeholders.

Our Senior Commercial Programs Data Analyst will partner closely with the Marketing & Sales leadership teams to develop and execute on a reporting strategy and deliver analytical insights to commercial teams, thus being a key change agent in driving actionable, data-based decision-making. This role coalesces data from multiple commercial sources, seeking to unearth and proactively deliver meaningful analytical insights, while leading cross-functional coordination, creating reporting tools, influencing culture, and anticipating emerging business needs. The Sr. Analysts’ knowledge of the commercial data realm coupled with their ability to read, comprehend, and articulate insights off the data will uniquely position them as a resident expert whose counsel will be sought to advise other go-to-market planning efforts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Be consultative partner who works with key commercial partners to inform decisions through analyses and development of applicable insights, serving as a judicious partner to commercial teams, identifying business opportunities and communicating insights through secondary data mining 
  • Use data from large, syndicated data sets (such as those from IQVIA or DHC) and internal data sources to provide a comprehensive view of the performance for commercial programs, audiences, and the market, while noting strengths and limitations of the data / approach 
  • Think critically, ask probing questions, solve complex business questions with internal and external data sources, translate business needs into executable reporting solutions 
  • Collaborate with partners across the business unit and enterprise to integrate analytics information and insights with other information sources, such as market research 
  • Support product and market program opportunity assessments, situational analyses, trend identification, market sizing, and industry landscape research 
  • In partnership with the digital marketing analyst, institute frameworks across project and campaign lifecycles, including measurement plans, insight discovery, and performance reporting 
  •  Develop and operationalize ongoing reporting needs, including development and assessment of metrics/key performance indicators to track program strategy, tactics, or in-market impact and performance 
  • Conduct analysis and deliver actionable insights for commercial programs including ROI on campaigns, attribution of channel and content impact, identification of preferential audience segments, etc. o Develop, deploy, and update dashboards, KPIs, and reporting packages to various leaders 
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to increase and enhance the use of advanced modeling and analytic methods and produce insights into underlying program and market dynamics 
  • Drive the development of reporting tools and dashboards that make actionable information accessible and digestible to a wider audience
  • Improve the adoption of tools and drive data literacy 
  • Promote accountability and transparency by measuring performance against KPIs 
  • Collaborate with various functions, including , IT, and commercial enablement teams to ensure efficient dashboard development, aligned definitions, and single sources of truth for data sets 
  • Identify and drive business process changes needed to capture data required for analytics 
  • Provide with stakeholders regularly on scheduled deliverables and ad-hoc requests 
  • Proactively consult with commercial teams and stakeholders on industry trends and key functional areas such as analytical tools and commercial program impact measurement 
  • Foster creative thinking around how we use data, and how we could use data to solve unique business challenges in support of a broad range of activities 
  • Develop data requirements for assigned campaigns and programs to support success and inform broader Boston Scientific data roadmap 
  • Provide proactively to all levels of management and all stakeholders, managing expectations, timelines, and logistics 
  • Demonstrate creativity and agility by thinking creatively on the fly, applying analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on customer experience, program efficacy / impact, and the intersection with viable execution 
  • Contribute to leading, guiding, and driving our marketing transformation and journey towards data-based decision-making 
  • Function as an influencer who is a confident force for change that balances that with an openness to new insights, embracing challenges and leading with positive energy 
  • Triage and respond to requests related to identified data issues 
  • Manage third-party vendors and consultants 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business,  Economics,  Mathematics,  Statistics, or other quantitative area of study 
  • 3+ years of commercial program analytics experience 
  • 3+ years of industry Excel experience (including pivot tables and vlookups) and/or other data analysis tools 
  • 1+ years of experience leading analytics projects
  • 1+ years of SQL and querying databases (Google BigQuery, Snowflake) to extract required data for analysis 
  • 1+ years with Salesforce (Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, CDP) 
  • 1+ years  Experience with Tableau, Data Studio/Looker or similar platform
  • Ability to travel up to 20% 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Strong data visualization and presentation skills (e.g. Tableau, PowerPoint) 
  • Understanding of advanced marketing analytics techniques to solve business problems, such as lead scoring, attribution modeling, and media mix models. 
  • Experience driving commercial program insights generation and optimization recommendations 
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, processing information efficiently, translating information effectively and keeping key stakeholders in-the-know 
  • Ability to translate tech and data speak to business speak for varying levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills that foster prioritization and thought partnership 
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple, cross-functional projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and ability to prioritize projects in a quickly evolving landscape 
  • Experience with SAP, Google Big Query, Amazon Web Services, and Data Lakes 
  • Experience with syndicated datasets from IQVIA, Definitive Health Care, Market Access Data(e.g. patient longitudinal data, claims data, sales and demand data, etc.) area plus
  • Experience with Python, PowerBI, Alteryx, Business Objects, Access, SAS, and R, are alsoa plus
  • Comfort working equal parts independently and deeply embedded with a team
  • Comfortable presenting to large audiences  and facilitating group discussions, virtually and in-person
  • Experience with digital marketing technologies(Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Marketing Platforms, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, programmatic media, etc.)
  • Experience with A/B test design and associated testing platforms
  • Prior experience inhighly regulated industry such asthe healthcare sector, financial services, etc.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
