The role:

The Senior Data Analyst will help grow our Data Analysis team. As a founding member of our Data Analysis team, you'll help contribute to both existing and new reporting capabilities. This role will work cross functionally across many teams with a high degree of executive visibility. Working to establish best practices and usability across our Data products. You'll build dashboards, visualizations, data dictionaries, and presentations to support our analysis. This role will report to our Head of Data.

Our Data team is made up of various Internal and External teams. Our skill sets and functions range from Data Engineering, Analysis, Science to others as well! We're responsible for supporting our exponential Product Led Growth (PLG) through the power of data. 

Shortcut is a data driven company, our role is to surface data, dashboards, and insights for functions across Shortcut. Driving a direct impact on strategy and decision making across our high growth organization. We frequently work directly with executives, senior leadership, and individual contributors to perform analysis that drives our adaptive strategy. Everyone is our stakeholder.

What you'll do:

  • Build a strong understanding of the business and key drivers to provide actionable insights to the organization to maximize business results. 
  • Present data and insights clearly to departments through visual dashboards, slide decks, etc. 
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards for department leaders with high data quality and in an organized manner.
  • Contribute to the modeling, dictionaries, and integrity of the data platform.
  • Explain performance on key business metrics to department leaders through causal/correlational relationships. 
  • Assist product team in understanding the impact of key product initiatives.
  • Use SQL, LookML, DBT, Excel, and BI tools to create dashboards and perform complex analysis.

You should have:

  • Strong proven experience working with data via SQL, preferably in a high-volume environment
  • Experience with Looker, Tableau, Power BI or other data visualization software. Preferably Looker/LookerML.
  • Expertise with data modeling, and database structures.
  • Expert at manipulation of data within Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Ability to generate crisp and compelling data visualizations and be a strong communicator of results
  • Ability to take a top level business metric and identify the key reasons why it is over / under performing. 
  • Strong professional skills, ethics, and communication skills.

Extra credit (nice to have): 

  • Experience working with Data Engineers and Scientists.
  • Experience working with DBT.
  • Experience in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Financial or tech industry experience.
  • Experience in Product Led Growth companies.
  • Experience with project management tools like Jira, Asana, Trello, etc.

Target base salary for this role based on experience: $90,000-$110,000 annually + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k))
