About the role
We are hiring our first Senior Data Analyst to partner with Data Engineering and grow the value of insights within our organization. Someone with a deep understanding of quantitative analysis and descriptive analytics. This is a high leverage position. You'll partner with various teams to improve our products, grow our business, and move insights to the forefront of the organization.
This is a remote position.
You will
- Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond numbers and understand how our users interact with our products.
- Form hypotheses about our products and develop experiments to test them.
- Partner with our finance, product, sales, and operations teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
- Apply predictive and statistical methods to better understand where the company and product will or should be, not just where it presently is.
- Develop dashboards and perform deep analyses, and keep a watchful eye on the overall health of our business and product.
- Develop interesting insights about our marketplace to drive data-driven content marketing.
- Promote data awareness, strategy, and review across the organization.
You have
- 4+ years experience as a data scientist or senior analyst working with large scale datasets in early stage analytics. Ideally in fintech at a startup or small tech company.
- Familiarity with our data stack, we’re on Snowflake, dbt, & Mode.
- Proven ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
- Expertise in statistical analysis. Can build and analyze linear/nonlinear, and stochastic models. Logistic regression and beta distributions are not foreign concepts.
- Ability to distill insights from imperfect data with confidence, communicate uncertainty, and combine both disciplined and creative frameworks to both shallow and advanced data challenges.
- Highly skilled at SQL
- Highly skilled at statistical packages such as Python, R, MATLAB, Excel etc.
Bonus
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Computer science, Physics, Economics, Math, Engineering or equivalent)
- Strong verbal and communication skills. You can paint a compelling narrative with data.
- Exceptional SQL skills.
- Strong coding experience in at least one of {Python, R, Ruby, Matlab}
- Experience with Airflow, Dagster, or another orchestration tool.
