Misfits Market is looking for an experienced Analytics Manager to own the data strategy, tech stack, and a team of data analysts across our customer-facing app & website and backend systems (including our fulfillment centers). You will be leading and professionally developing a team of analysts, working with company leaders to answer complex business questions, create and improve forecasts, proactively deliver business insights, and define processes and standards.  This role requires a strong level of analytical horsepower and communication skills to effectively analyze and tell the story behind the data, along with ability to drive projects with a team of analysts to deliver strategic and high-quality work.  We’re excited to have you uncover opportunities and insights to deliver an ideal customer experience and to continue to fight food waste.

Role responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the business, build positive relationships across departments, and partner with teams to use data to drive the best decisions and outcomes
  • Manage the analytics team to efficiently and effectively tackle complex data challenges, and mentor and develop team members
  • Serve as the voice of data and analytics in meetings and on key initiatives, from helping ideate the strategic approach to post-release monitoring
  • Proactively seek out interesting opportunities based on data trends and highlighting them to business stakeholders
  • Oversee metrics reporting, data-driven analyses, and insights for strategic business initiatives, while maintaining the analytics roadmap to prioritize initiatives, communicate timelines, and ensure successful, timely completion of deliverables
  • Manage the stakeholder facing ticketing system, along with prioritization and assignment of work for the team
  • Collaborate with the teams across the company to identify impactful business problems and translate them into structured analysis, actional able insights, and reports and dashboards
  • Partner with the engineering team to create the data roadmap and help to build and maintain scalable infrastructure, tooling, and processes to provide seamless access to data and insights, including managing the data team’s budget

About you

  • 6+ years in analytics, business intelligence, or a related field
  • 2+ years of direct people management
  • Experienced with data pipeline and data engineering tools and processes
  • Strong quantitative skills, including expert proficiency with SQL, working with large data sets, data modeling and transformation, and an ability to design and lead with best practices
  • Adept at turning complex analyses into actionable recommendations for the business
  • Proven track record in leading a team of data analysts on delivering projects, ensuring that the quality of deliverables and internal processes stays top-notch as the organization scales, and developing technical skill sets while preparing technical contributors for the next level
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to transform data into a story for different audiences and various stakeholders
  • Proficiency with a common analysis and visualization tool like Mode Analytics, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
  • Empathetic leadership style
