    • Provide a streaming platform as a service to make communication simple to use and highly scalable utilizing distributed systems and data flows.
    • Utilize core stream processing engine, self-service tooling to support hundreds of data streams, highly configurable and tunable dataflows.
    • Design and build a self-service event platform using state-of-the-art technology.
    • Lead the burgeoning Event Platform engineering team, which provides a streaming platform as a service to make that communication simple to use and highly scalable.
    • Establish best practices and standards for managing high volume multi-region streams.
    • Build automation for ingestion of a myriad of data sources.
    • Work closely with engineering teams, enabling them to build new features using our self-service event platform.
    • Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to negotiate and work with Product Management to meet the user's needs while maintaining quality.
    • Take proactive steps to protect against regressions through a variety of testing techniques.
    • Contribute to the team's high-end projects through the use of Java and Python microservices, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Pulsar, Flink, Airflow, MySQL, Postgres, and Redis.
    • Iteratively deliver customer value through rapid prototyping and data-driven decision making.
    • Improve the quality of the project, both via code contributions as well as long-term advocacy for largerscale changes.  Identify ways to automate and measure stream reliability, efficiency, and quality.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field plus 4 years of professional experience performing data engineering including designing, developing, and maintaining high through-put and low-latency ETL pipelines at scale and automating ingestion at scale from multiple data sources.

Must also have experience with the following special skills:

    • 4 years of professional experience using programming languages (including Java and Python)
    • 4 years of professional experience working with open-source, distributed processing systems (including Spark, Flink, or Beam)
    • 4 years of professional experience utilizing Big Data tools (including Kafka, Pulsar, Amazon EMR, Druid, Trino, or Presto)
    • 4 years of professional experience working with distributed systems, data flows, data modeling, data access, data storage formats (Protobuf, Avro, Parquet, or Iceberg) and techniques
    • 4 years of professional experience implementing event-based applications and pipelines in the public cloud.
For US based applicants:
- The standard base salary range for this position is $173,200 - $259,800 annually.
- This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
