Please explore this opportunity to join us as a Data Scientist for our government client in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.


Responsibilities:

  • Corresponding with a team of engineers to perform data analysis, modeling, and research to understand and interpret data predictions, relationships, and trends 
  • Working with end users to help educate them in SQL, Python, and/or R, preferably with Apache Spark 
  • Create queries, reports, and technical presentations. 
  • Identifying patterns in data in complex data sets 
  • Comprehension of the latest technology trends, developments, and best practices to define new process improvement opportunities 
  • Ensuring successful completion of work and timeliness of deliverables 
  • Providing status updates to senior members of the team and working with management to identify and prioritize business needs 
  • Leading/managing a team of data scientists to educate end users  

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics, or related field 
  • 7 years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, data profiling, data research, and data management 
  • Extensive experience working with data in SQL, Python, and/or R 
  • Experience and understanding of Apache Spark 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills 
  • Desire to dig in, learn, and contribute to new challenges 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience working with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services data 


Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in Databricks 
  • Experience with AWS 
  • Experience with GitHub 
  • Experience with migrating SAS code to Python/R/Spark preferred 
  • Knowledge of broad-reaching technology concepts, including Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) 


Work Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 55% per year.
