The Senior Director, Banking Data & Analytics is a new innovation role that will be responsible for operationalizing Bottomline’s vision to productize and support data driven products for our Banking Teams. This role is also responsible for developing and executing our DBIQ Banking data strategy. The role is also responsible for creating and improving data storage, extension and use in ML and AI driven SaaS products, enabling the business to transform data into productized solutions. As steward of Banking data, this role is responsible for improving data quality and working with our Bottomline BTIQ DNA data science teams to develop and operationalize machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions by utilizing appropriate technologies. This role will report into the CPO, Digital Banking

This role will ensure that the enterprise data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to support the mission and activities of Bottomline. This includes:

  • Expose data as service to Bottomline customers and partners
  • Enable actionable reporting, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI)
  • Mine the data for new machine learning features
  • Manage Bottomline BTIQ DNA relationship for the Banking team
  • Maintains and manages data repositories for banking systems and ancillary systems
  • This key leader will work closely with the Bottomline BTIQ DNA and Banking leadership to ensure data is being developed as a viable resource for current and future products both inside and outside of current systems.

As the Principal Banking Data Leader, the role:

  • Develops a team of data practitioners to enable and support a culture of Banking data products
  • Decreases the cost of managing data while increasing the value of the data
  • Provides expertise and consults on all new major Banking data-related or data-intensive initiatives
  • In consultation Banking leadership decides on products and services and technical architectures to support those products and services
  • Oversees bulk Banking data, data as API development (Data as a Service), metadata standards, and compatibility with emerging data service standards
  • Reaches out to industry leaders, academics, lawmakers, and the public to promote Bottomline data and data services; travels to events to represent data services for the Bottomline
  • Develops collaborations that further development of data products and services that speed products and innovations to market

How you’ll contribute:

  • Develop a Banking data strategy for Bottomline that operationalizes Bottomline’s vision to manage data as an asset and support data driven decision making
  • Develop and lead data product teams to create data semantic layers to power actionable reporting, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI)
  • Develops and lead teams of data practitioners to enable and support a culture of data sharing and customer analytics
  • Develop strategy to support data growth and data consumption
  • Develop strategy to maintain an up-to-date inventory of banking databases & data repositories
  • Champion and facilitate the appropriate use of the data
  • Collaborate with business functions across Bottomline to define data and develop related meta-data
  • Provide effective and accessible training and documentation on the use and appropriate handling of Bottomline banking data
  • Develop and promote data quality standards for data entry and reporting
  • Provide technical leadership to support data first banking programs at Bottomline
  • Align activities to data security and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Responsible for providing guidance to procure infrastructure and related applications

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data or related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Master’s degree or advanced degree is valued
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Data Analytics function.
  • Experience in multi-site operations, complex infrastructure, large member population applications, and or finance
  • Exemplary leadership and stakeholder management expertise. Exceptional presentation skills, excellent verbal and communication skills, and ability to motivate team members.
  • Innovative problem solver with excellent critical thinking skills and strong analytical abilities needed
  • Deep expertise in advanced analytics, methods, tools, platforms and processes required to design, build and operationalize analytic solutions; proven ability to assess and evaluate analytics frameworks and technologies, including experience in cloud native technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in cultural transformation of a legacy organization preferred
