Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Product and Enterprise Analytics, ResMed is seeking a Senior Manager of Analytics Engineering to lead our efforts to build high impact data products and solutions that enable teams across ResMed to move faster and smarter. This role will work with business leaders, product managers, as well as their peers in Data Platform Engineering and other technical teams to identify, build, and deploy solutions that maximize speed to insight and business value.

This role will lead a team of Analytics Engineers as we endeavor to develop data products that are easy to use, reliable, and scalable. Our collective goal as a Data Team is to efficiently turn questions about our business into innovative analytics solutions. Accordingly, this role will play a major role in helping us use our data to improve our services, operations, products, as well as the lives and wellbeing of our customers.

Let’s Talk About Responsibilities

• Manage, lead, and develop a high-performing team, including day-to-day prioritization, bi-weekly milestones, quarterly objectives, and annual reviews

• Provide technical oversight and mentorship of a high-performing team, overseeing the development and delivery of Analytics Engineering deliverables

• Set team-level OKRs in alignment with Data & Analytics Strategy as well as with overarching corporate goals

• Build analytics products that meet a broad set of needs for stakeholders and users that engage with our data ecosystem

• Meet regularly with business counterparts to ensure we understand and communicate a shared definition of success for each of our projects and initiatives

• Maintain subject matter expertise in the application and usage of our data as well as our analytics technologies and tools

• Develop the skills and capabilities of team members to provide them an informed and engaging career path

• Present the team’s priorities and accomplishments to other Data & Analytics leaders as well as other stakeholders

Let’s Talk About Qualifications and Experience

Required

• 2+ years of experience leading a distributed team of individual contributors

• 5+ years of experience hiring, developing, and retaining skilled analytics practitioners

• 8+ years of experience building and supporting self-service analytics and business intelligence solutions

• Demonstrated commitment to hiring and developing an analytics team with diverse skills and backgrounds

• Demonstrated expertise with data transformation, orchestration, analysis, and visualization

• Demonstrated expertise in Analytics Engineering best practices: including the use of version control, continuous integration, ELT (vs ETL), as well as testing, deploying, and documenting curated datasets

• Exceptional experience creating and developing partnerships with internal team members towards the delivery of impactful analytics solutions

• Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and maintaining data products across a multitude of business functions and contexts

• Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex, ambiguous environment while managing stakeholder expectations and creating prioritization alignment

Preferred Qualifications

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, specifically the ability to translate technical requirements into business context and value

• Experience working closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineers to extend the value and impact of analytics solutions

• A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
