Summary

​​The Sr. Planner of Reporting & Analytics, Planning Operations is a cross-functional role that works closely with Planning and IT partners to enable visibility of Carhartt’s demand and supply match. Through analytics and curiosity, this role’s main objective is developing and managing tools to provide visibility to opportunities to optimize Carhartt’s demand and supply flows, while driving mutually beneficial financial results for the Customer and for Carhartt. 
 
The Sr. Planner of Reporting & Analytics will work to understand Carhartt’s data architecture and business operations with the purpose of creating reporting solutions leveraging Power BI and other software solutions. Individual will be responsible for all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of reporting for the broader Planning Department. This individual will combine their knowledge of Planning and forecasting with a passion for data analytics, report building and problem solving to support visibility, accessibility and decision making across the business.​

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects for the planning department; identify opportunities for continuous improvement and conceptualize creative reporting solutions to new business problems 
  • Lead weekly communication with IT/data analytics teams on progress of reporting and system enhancements  
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand KPIs and document requirements for developing appropriate business analytics and reporting applications 
  • Act as Planning’s BI subject matter expert and provide training; create training materials as needed 
  • Take the lead on software enhancement releases, testing and maintaining data integrity and consistency of data throughout reporting 
  • Serve as back-up for operations planner responsible for day-to-day planning system maintenance  
  • Support Planning Leadership in ad hoc reporting needs and analysis to support business decision-making processes 
  • Translate between business needs and detailed technical requirements 
  • Create and update process documentation to support the maintenance of solutions

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred in Related Field
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in enterprise and/or global planning, forecasting, analytics, and/or related fields. Has a deep knowledge of the concepts and theories of the function 
  • Strong analytical and data skillset leveraging Business Intelligence and visualization tools (Power BI experience preferred). Power BI, Power Query/M & DAX experience preferred 
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise business communication to audiences up and down the organization 
  • Critical eye for evaluating data and translating to decision makers through storytelling 
  • Strong critical thinking, detailed oriented, and logical approach to solving problems 
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to communicate and meet project deadlines 
  • Ability to prioritize and demonstrate ability to plan, manage, & execute upon numerous processes and projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to effectively influence and collaborate across business functions and deliver high quality solutions 
  • Self-motivated, passionate, and enthusiastic individual ready to bring energy and excitement to lead their business 
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office and Planning tools) are needed, with advanced Excel capability 
  • Desire and ability to learn new technologies
