Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Senior Energy Fundamentals Analyst to lead the development of our market fundamentals infrastructure in support of our product decision-making process. As a senior member of the Analytics team’s Market Fundamentals group, you will work closely with your Analytics colleagues as well as Form Energy's Commercial Operations, Software, and Product Management teams to guide product decisions using fundamental modeling of the U.S. power grid. In addition to guiding product decisions, the Senior Analyst will also play a primary role in developing and maintaining infrastructure to publish periodic outlooks on Form’s value, role, and opportunities in the broad energy landscape.

What You'll Do:

    • Be the voice of the energy market valuation and analytics in Form Energy's product decision-making processes
    • Develop infrastructure to maintain a fundamentals-driven outlook on Form’s value in different regions and types of markets across the U.S. energy landscape. This will involve identifying public and private datasets for common modeling needs (e.g. PUDL, EIA, FERC, HIFLD) and developing streamlined methods to flow data from this infrastructure into power system models. This will require working with Form’s Software, Product, and other Analytics team members to make sure these methods meet user requirements.
    • Define product requirements required to meet market needs and drive the downselection of technology options based on product-market fit
    • Publish scenario-driven periodic outlooks on Form’s demand, value and revenue

What You'll Bring:

    • 4-7 years of commercial experience or a combination of graduate school and experience in market modeling or financial analysis within renewable energy, energy storage, or power sector
    • Ability to collect and organize large data sets, run extensive quantitative analysis to address complex questions, and present results clearly
    • Experience with energy markets, and energy systems models. Experience with commercial production simulation software a plus (e.g. PLEXOS, Aurora, RESOLVE etc.)
    • Knowledge of Python for complex data analysis, manipulation, and visualization. Additional experience  with databases, SQL queries and data warehouses like Snowflake a plus
    • Experience evaluating complex product trade-off decisions
