As the Sr. Product Manager for Enterprise Data, you are a key enabler for unlocking the value of Splunks data! This critical role will work closely with business stakeholders, data consumers, data producers, and data engineers to create a unified vision and strategy for data across Splunks business domains.
You will need to use your technical expertise and deep experience in delivering features using Agile methodologies as a Product Owner for this position. To be successful you will have to balance priorities, collaborate with senior leaders, and present to executives while defining detailed functional requirements, delivering within an agile delivery framework, and supervising key performance indicators.
This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, work with timelines, handle various tasks simultaneously while continuing to maintain a positive culture. Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction and creation of the enterprise data roadmap, with key focus on the following:
- Voice of customer for data to ensure it’s accessible, reliable, and meaningful for the business.
- Articulate a data strategy that is informed by best engineering, security, and privacy standard methodologies alongside business goals.
- Drive data as a product across the enterprise to enable the business to make data driven decisions.
- Represent the data engineering team as the main interface for collaboration with internal business partners and actively engage with them to ensure delivery is aligned with business needs and the product vision.
- Actively network with key industry contacts to understand standard methodologies and emerging trends for the domain and how they can be used within the company.
- Manage the product backlog to ensure the highest business value is being delivered to our customers.
- Author technical feature requirements in the form of user stories and acceptance criteria for varying business use cases.
- Produce and lead go-live release communications that advise a diverse set of partners and/or users of new features and/or changes.
- Effectively present roadmaps, sophisticated ideas and features to a broad audience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a technical product manager
- Intimate knowledge of Agile methodologies and core values to deliver work within the framework as a Product Owner.
- Independently author well-written technical and functional feature requirements in the form of user stories and acceptance criteria for complex data use cases.
- Defining data goals and strategy that align with the broader organizational vision
- Champion data literacy within the organization and drive data driven culture within Splunk
- Ability to work with the data warehouse users, data platform product manager, IT Business Analysts and all levels of the organization including senior leadership.
- Experience with enterprise data and analytics technology & tools (i.e. SQL, Tableau) and SQL to extract data and synthesize into actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills: ability to translate quantitative details into clear, succinct summaries and recommendations and influence decisions for peers and executive audiences. Must be comfortable communicating at all levels from C-Suite to junior team members.
- BA/BS or MA/MS is required

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $159,200.00 - 218,900.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $143,280.00 - 197,010.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $127,360.00 - 175,120.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
