About Us
Logikcull’s mission is to democratize the complex, expensive and risky process of legal discovery. By empowering organizations of all kinds with our powerfully simple, self-serve model and pay-as-you-go pricing, we’re disrupting an $80 billion dollar industry, helping ensure that people and businesses get a fair shake in our legal system, and making access to information fast and affordable for all.

The Problem:
Less than 2% of all legal disputes in the United States go to trial. Instead, the vast majority of litigation and investigations are resolved through the slow, insecure and ludicrously expensive process of discovery -- an institution so antiquated and clumsy, it’s still referred to as “eDiscovery.” Logikcull is the Spotify to eDiscovery’s clunky phonograph records; the Uber to its disjointed fleet of high-priced cabs. We empower people and organizations of all stripes to navigate the typically onerous, vendor-driven eDiscovery process with powerfully simple cloud-based software that anyone, anywhere can use at any time to find, review and share discovery information fast, easily and at a fraction of the cost. That’s why Logikcull is the preferred solution of more than 1500 organizations in 40+ countries, including more than 600 law firms, dozens of Fortune 500 companies, some of the most well-respected non-profits, and leading government entities like the cities of New York, Chicago and Boston.

What we need:
We need someone who has a passion for team building and taking on new challenges. Our Processing Pipeline team is an amazing (and humble) group of engineers that are tackling some of the most complex (and most interesting) technical challenges at Logikcull. You will be responsible for the outcomes of the team that is solving the core business need of processing hundreds of millions of documents so that they are easily searchable by our customers. You will be responsible for listening, understanding, and helping the team find a balance between scaling work and adding new features and functionality. You will also collaborate closely with our infrastructure and product teams. You will be the team’s biggest proponent and help them to remove obstacles, gather information, and achieve excellence.

What you’ll do

    • Form meaningful relationships with your team through 1 on 1s. Provide mentorship, coaching and feedback to help your team succeed.
    • Partner with our People team to attract, retain, and develop world-class talent
    • Collaborate with Product teams to create a clear roadmap and to clarify priorities for your engineering team
    • Monitor and communicate progress to stakeholders and make adjustments to scope as needed
    • Provide context for engineers and help them to understand the “why”
    • Assist engineers with breaking down large problems into small ones, setting goals, and forming plans for how to achieve them
    • Remove any obstacles for your team and maintain blocks of uninterrupted time to help them to maintain a state of flow
    • Assist with Code Reviews on occasion
    • Collaborate and coordinate plans with other engineering managers

Requirements

    • Understanding and appreciation of Servant Leadership
    • Desire to practice and improve the craft of management
    • While this is not primarily a coding position, a deep understanding of Java or Ruby and an appreciation of distributed data pipelines and scalable applications will go a long way towards helping you to effectively lead the team
    • 3-5 years of experience working on and managing distributed teams of 5 or more engineers
    • Ability to both inspire engineers and to hold them accountable for excellence
    • Keen sense of when to make decisions and when to let the team work through the problem on their own
    • A love of helping customers to solve problems

    • Experience managing multiple cross-functional agile teams
