Tech Stack:
Datafold is a distributed web application with a rich interactive UI. Our backend is primarily written in Python with the use of FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Celery. We rely on Rust for specialized and performance-critical components. The data is stored in PostgreSQL, Neo4j (metadata graph), and Clickhouse (logs and time series). Our frontend is written in Typescript with the use of React, Redux, and GraphQL. We also use WebAssembly for performance-critical components.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Solutions Engineer who will lead the technical part of Datafold deployments. Relying on your expertise in Data or Software Engineering, you will work directly with our customers to understand their current data quality and productivity challenges design, and implement the best solution leveraging the Datafold platform.
An ideal candidate for the role is an experienced Data Engineer with strong Software Engineering fundamentals who is passionate about finding ways to "do data better" through building valuable tools and sharing knowledge to empower others.
In this role, you will:
Work with customers evaluating Datafold, as part of the deployment process of our application; integrating and adopting our product in their workflows
Identify potential blockers for customers in adopting Datafold and overcome them through building solutions, creating content, educating the users, and collaborating with our team
Identify product improvement opportunities and communicate them to our team
Provide thought leadership to our customers, our team, and the broader Data community on the best ways for doing high-quality data engineering by creating content, leading demos, participating in discussions & conferences
Requirements:
Strong engineering background
Knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns, data warehousing and orchestration (e.g. Airflow, dbt)
Advanced knowledge of SQL; working knowledge of Python
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to handle and effectively resolve conflict
Excellent listening skills, empathy, and ability to connect with people of various backgrounds, technical abilities, and cultures
You'd be an exceptionally strong fit if you:
Have advanced knowledge of dbt
Have experience with infrastructure and DevOps (AWS, GCP, CI/CD)
