Special Projects Analytics Engineer (contract, remote)
Data for Progress is bringing on a contractor for special data-engineering-and-analysis projects to help expand our mission to empower movements using data. This role will be responsible for conducting analyses and investigations in areas related to movement strategy, survey methodology, and polling results. Even if you have no strong political background, this is a great way to get exposure to political data and analysis.

AS A SPECIAL PROJECTS ANALYTICS ENGINEER, YOU WILL…
Collaborate closely with teammates in the DFP Tech Team and across DFP to build on our technical foundation for polling and analysis.
Design, execute, and take ownership of analysis of campaign finance, election, and polling-related data.
Write clean and testable SQL, Python, or R.
Set up robust data-engineering pipelines using dbt (preferred) or Civis Platform.
Create visualizations of data for non-technical audiences.
Publish and share deliverables for internal and external stakeholders on your work.
FOR EXAMPLE, YOU MIGHT
Parse and visualize FEC data to analyze who contributes to campaigns over time.
Find, assemble, and clean new data sources for use in modeling and polling weighting.
Design a postcard campaign to recruit rural survey respondents in a state.
Build a SQL pipeline that ingests census microdata and imputes missing values.
