Here, your work directly supports the store mission to be the guest favorite through successfully developing and communicating the processes for operations, style and experience, new structures, new operating models and new technology, and utilizing workforce management activities for our 1,800+ locations nationwide. Store Operations manages and enhances the informational resources for researching and resolving operational issues, while guiding and communicating with the field team and leaders who use them. A role with Process Operations means a big opportunity to apply your logistics, supply chain and fulfillment experience to continuously improve the strategies that fuel behind-the-scenes processes like fulfillment, replenishment and inventory accuracy.

Primary Function:

As a Sr. Data Analyst in Store Analytics, you will be part of a team of the Inventory Accuracy agile team which supports Store Operations and the Enterprise in building data driven solutions that improve Inventory Accuracy within our Stores. This function is under the Shared Services umbrella and has a significant influence on the organization. You’ll be part of a team of analysts supporting Stores through active exploration of data, technologies and the application of mathematical techniques that enables actionable business insights to include the development of metrics, reports and statistics. A very critical role you’ll play is sharing out these insights through training/communication opportunities with end users to gather feedback, apply learned insights and testing in partnership with business users. Along the way you’ll be applying best practicefor data wrangling, analysis and visualization by sharing well documented solutions with others (clients, peers, etc.) while upskilling on new and emerging technologies with a continuous improvement mindset. In addition, active participation in team meetings and contributing to agile ceremonies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively exploring data for specific use cases
  • Developing and maintaining large-scale data connections, tables, and reports
  • Documenting calculations, code, and adhering to data management principles
  • Validating and testing data assets of others in the form of peer review
  • Active participant in team meetings
  • Contribute in agile ceremonies

Reporting/Working Relationships:

Works directly with product managers, process owners, other analysts, and engineers to discover, explore, develop, and deliver complex datasets and insights. Engages with product managers and users to deliver completed work. Active participant in Data and Analytics functions and training.

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS in a quantitative degree – Math, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years relevant experience in scalable dataset development, engineering, and reporting
  • Extensive experience in SQL programming
  • Exposure to database architecture, data mining, data modeling
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
  • Preferred:
  • Specific experience with Hadoop stack (Map Reduce, Kafka, Pig, Hive, HBase, Cassandra, YARN) and/or BDAS (Scala/Spark)
  • Large-scale dataset design spanning multiple business areas and/or data domains

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs.  A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target. The salary range is :$83,800.00 USD - $150,800.00 USD.
