The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled, organized and self-motivated Data Engineer who is passionate about building a modern, cloud based and scalable self-service data platform to join our growing engineering team and be responsible for building out the core data, analytics and reporting that drives our business. We are a small team, self-organized, highly autonomous and motivated. You will be working directly with engineers, data analysts, product managers and other stakeholders in a highly team-centric manner to build out our analytics and collaboration platform. We’re serious about best engineering practices and writing quality software that is clean, easy to maintain, secure and scalable. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers on the team to architect, build and improve our data platform and analytics infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with BI Analysts, Product and Sales team members to translate business requirements into new and improved data models.

  • Take ownership for decisions on technical implementations and architecture, together with the team.

  • Design and implement fault-tolerant, resilient ELT/ETL pipelines from a wide range of data sources.

  • Contribute to the implementation of engineering best practices, including unit tests and integration tests in a CI/CD environment.

  • Build monitoring tools to help meet our data quality/availability SLAs and ensure high-availability for our infrastructure.

  • Perform data analysis and modeling using SQL best practices for query and database performance.

  • Advocate for improvements to data quality, security, and performance.

  • Learn from others and share your knowledge on a team, department and company level.

  • Contribute to increasing technical excellence for the team.

  • Serve as a technical lead on our data engineering team, providing training and mentorship to help develop the skills and talents of others.

  • Ability to work independently without active supervision, and take full ownership of what you build.

  • Share ownership of the end to end product.

About you

  • You care about the value of data and have a passion for solving problems. 

  • Experience with software development practices like infrastructure as code, Test Driven Development, CI/CD, clean code, version control and pair/mob programming.

  • A high level of proficiency in Python and SQL

  • 4+ years of experience in a data engineering, analytics, or related software development environment.

  • Ability to leverage tools, business intuition, and attention to detail for data validation and QA.

  • Familiar with modern data technologies/stack (dbt, BigQuery, Docker, Git, python, etc.)

  • You are a self-motivated individual contributor and great teammate with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and share progress in a rapidly changing environment.

  • You are a good communicator who values building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Extras

Here are some extras that could make you the ideal candidate:

  • Experience with AdTech, MarTech and Enterprise Sales use cases.

  • Experience with AdTech/MarTech/SalesTech APIs (eg. Salesforce, Marketo, LinkedIn, etc).

  • Bachelors degree, Masters degree in Computer Science or related fields.
