What can you tell your friends when they ask you what you do?

As the Sr Director of Engineering, you will oversee the development and roadmap execution for the teams working on all our core data products which include App Annie Intelligence and Ascend. Your focus will be on the quality and timeliness of the team's output (including code and accompanying documentation) and ensure an appropriate balance of speed to market with robustness of solutions.

• Align with stakeholders and lead engineers on mission critical projects to resolve complex business problems, ensuring projects commitments are met
• Responsible for the design and execution of the team's strategy, as well as its growth.
• Responsible for the design and delivery of technical solutions, working closely with the product team and data science team.
• Hands-on experience with data lakes, big data processing
• Deep insight about performance tuning, storage optimization and big data ecosystem
• Deep insight regarding high availability, scalability and concurrency management

You should recognize yourself in the following...

• 8+ years of software development experience including big data, data analysis and machine learning
• 5+ years experience working on Big Data and Data Analysis domain
• 4+ years of recent work experience as a director of engineering.
• Strong tech leader with proven experience in big data analysis and distributed back-­end systems.
• Extensive experience with cloud technologies (AWS experience preferred.)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
• Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
• BSc/MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field
