Job Description  

At Norstella, we pride ourselves on delivering innovative solutions to our clients, and our commercial sales team plays a pivotal role in achieving our business objectives. We are seeking a talented Tableau professional to join our Global Business Intelligence team and contribute to our continued success.

This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing our Tableau environment. You will be responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, and support of our Tableau server, ensuring seamless functionality and performance across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for enhancing data accessibility and visualization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of Tableau server environment, including server management, application configuration, security controls, performance tuning and optimization, troubleshooting and support    
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau Server architecture and administration, including managing all sites, users, groups, and content on Tableau Server, investigating and resolving Tableau server issues and managing Tableau backup and disaster recovery planning.    
  • Strong understanding of data visualization concepts and best practices    
  • Advanced ability to integrate and troubleshoot database connectivity    
  • Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning to optimize Tableau server resources and enhance user experience.    
  • Manage Tableau server/site level content migrations and scheduling, backups, and restoration of Tableau repository.    
  • Perform regular monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of Tableau Server to ensure high availability and performance.  
  • Implement security measures and access controls to safeguard data integrity and compliance with industry standards.  
  • Develop and maintain documentation, guidelines, and best practices for Tableau usage and administration.  
  • Provide user creation, permissions and provisioning, incident and technical support and training   
  • Stay up-to-date on Tableau product updates, new features, and industry best practices to recommend and implement improvements. 
         

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited field or equivalent experience    
  • Proven experience as a Tableau Administrator or similar role, managing Tableau Server and associated technologies.    
  • Strong understanding of Tableau architecture, deployment methodologies, and best practices.    
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and customization tasks is a plus.    
  • Experience in data visualization concepts and design principles.    
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.    
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.    
  • Experience in the designing, building, customizing, and publishing Tableau interactive reports, visualizations, and dashboards    
  • Working proficiency with complex data from multiple data sources and building dashboards    
  • Demonstrated ability to understand new datasets and data structures    
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment    
  • Ability to creatively take on new challenges, be proactive and work outside their comfort zone  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with non-technical users  
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment    
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus  
  • Intermediate proficiency in SQL a plus  
  • Tableau certifications are a plus

The expected base salary for this position is $85,000-$95,000 annually. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
