The Trading & Risk Analyst will be responsible for the operations and distribution of all risk analytics and reporting for the institutional business. As our business continues to expand, we are creating and participating in a growing list of opportunity sets which is very exciting. OTC spot and options trading, margin financing, project financing, electronic trading across a variety of asset classes, and participation in active network protocols are some of our opportunity sets which require advanced modelling.. The risk analyst will be part of a growing team that helps oversee, manage, and monitor risks as well as implement capital allocation policies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and distribution of all daily risk reporting.
  • Work closely with traders to develop real-time risk dashboards and alerts.
  • Design new analytics and dashboards that provide insights into our crypto exposures, allocations, and sensitivities.
  • Preparation of weekly risk committee materials.
  • Collaborate with traders and sales team leadership to create KPIs and other analytics that will help increase revenues and improve profitability.
  • Work with institutional middle office to ensure capital movements are reconciled.
  • Construct proactive risk control frameworks to systematically de-risk strategies when certain financial and operational thresholds are breached. 
  • Run optimizations and strategy-specific analytics pertaining to the performance and risk of stat arb, market making, and other principal trading strategies..

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • The foremost quality for this position or any position at Blockchain.com is integrity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or similar educational background required.
  • Asset management background and/or exposure to electronic trading preferred but not required.
  • CFA designation or working towards designation a plus, not required.
  • 3+ years working in financial services with prior experience focusing on portfolio construction, capital allocation, or risk management
  • SQL, Tableau, Grafana, and Python a plus, not required
  • Strong presentation and communication skills when working with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work as a team to identify process improvements.
  • Capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards and effective time management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions
  • Adapt to a fast-paced continuous learning environment and show a willingness to take on additional responsibility where required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization, project management and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, coordinate the efforts of others and work well with people at a wide range of levels
