Mythic’s AI hardware combines knowledge across many domains, including AI, compilers, and chip design. Mythic will enable the future of AI by building analog-compute hardware platforms that are 100-1000x more efficient than conventional all-digital systems. This vision comes together on the AI Engineering team, where our expertise is used to develop AI algorithms and models which are optimized for our hardware, as well as to provide guidance to Mythic’s hardware and compiler teams who are building our hardware and compiler platforms. The AI Engineering team significantly impacts Mythic by:

• Developing quantization and robustness AI retraining tools

• Co-design new features with our compiler team that leverage the adaptability of neural networks to maximize speed & efficiency

• Developing new neural networks that are optimized for our hardware products

• Interfacing with internal and external customers to meet their development needs

Here's what you will do:

• Take on critical needs of the product and impact the tool flow on 3-6 month time horizons.
• Develop new improvements for Mythic's Analog-Aware Training algorithms (e.g., robustness to quantization, noise, and other non-idealities).
• Develop new algorithms to make models more efficient (e.g., automatic pruning and compression)
• Develop new algorithms to make model development faster (e.g., optimizers, automation)
• Coordinate with the AI Silicon Engineering team to find the best on-chip circuit configurations
• Stay up-to-date on literature for neural network training algorithms

Here's the background we hope you have:

• Strong software engineering skills
• PhD or 3+ years of industry algorithm development experience for machine learning
• Comprehensive understanding and intuition of neural network algorithms and architectures
• Experience with Python and standard numeric/scientific libraries
• Fluency with PyTorch
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, for large and small audiences
• At least one high-quality, peer-reviewed publication in machine learning

The following would be nice to have, but is not required:

• Experience working at startups
• Published code portfolio
• Experience working with applied optimization and/or statistical learning
