Overview of Role
We’re seeking folks with mid- to senior-level experience thinking critically about how data can best support and inform organizational needs and culture. As a key member of Climb’s Data team you will work cross functionally across all of our business teams to understand their Data needs and requirements. You will perform hands-on coding and architecture for our modern Data stack and also help us to uplevel our Data platform.

Responsibilities

    • Model data in SQL using dbt (data build tool)
    • Advise a teammate on approaches to dealing with data that balance outcomes, security, and performance
    • Configure and manage data ingestion tools using Stitch or Fivetran
    • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
    • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
    • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Python.
    • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
    • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
    • Create data tools for analytics team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

Your Background and Skills

    • 5-7 years of Data Lake or Data Warehouse experience as a data engineer or analytics engineer
    • Width and depth of SQL based data manipulation and transformation
    • Experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) is highly desirable
    • Comfortable with distributed source control using Git
    • Extremely strong in building scalable Data pipelines using SQL and Python.
    • Comfort level in working with at least one BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker etc.
    • Experience with cloud data systems such as Snowflake, Synapse Analytics, Google BigQuery or AWS Redshift.
    • Experience with loan products/credit risk/ credit card domain will be a plus
