What You’ll Do

  • Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity, and implement best practices for data management and governance

  • Data pipelines: Develop, test, and optimize data pipelines to support accurate data transformation and data structures for various analytic needs

  • Data Visualization: Create visually compelling and easy-to-understand dashboards, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate complex analytical findings to stakeholders, including senior management

  • Data Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of large and complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions and improve operational efficiencies

  • Data Quality Assurance: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data quality standards, validate data accuracy, and identify and address any data quality issues or inconsistencies

  • Forecasting and Predictive Analysis: Utilize statistical modeling and predictive analytics techniques to develop accurate forecasts, predictive models, and data-driven projections to guide future business planning and decision-making

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various departments and teams, including finance, marketing, operations, and product development, to understand their analytical needs and provide actionable insights to support their objectives

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis, and proactively recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data analysis methodologies

You

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analysis or a related field
  • Have 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a senior analyst role (or equivalent experience in a graduate program)
  • Are very fluent in SQL. You have intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL, understanding fundamentals of database design, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, and ability to read and deconstruct others’ code
  • Know your way around ETL pipelines, basics of API queries, and have experience with one or more ETL tools (e.g. Fivetran, Matillion, Databricks)
  • Work often with a cloud data warehouse (e.g. Google BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS Redshift)
  • Are proficient a data visualization tool (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Power BI) to the point where you can mentor business users and junior teammates confidently
  • Have strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, with an attention to detail
  • You are looking to move out of your data comfort zone and be a jack of all trades and a data thought leader in an organization
  • You love being part of an organized team that works in a fast-pace deadline-driven environment and minimal supervision

Nice to Have

  • A Master's degree in business analytics, statistics, computer science, or similar technical data-relevant graduate degree
  • Experience with medallion data architecture [bronze/silver/gold]
  • Experience in Python or R to analyze datasets, especially to create predictive models
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and work directly with business stakeholders on projects (e.g. executives, sales, product, engineering, supply chain)
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and identify inconsistencies and quality issues in datasets
  • Experience with building data models in DBT
  • Experience working with Gitlab (e.g. repositories, merges, code reviews)
  • Experience helping maintain a cloud data tool a plus (e.g. maintaining user accounts, permissions, storage, performance, or cleanliness in a cloud data warehouse or data viz tool)

Salary Range Information 

Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
