The Role
Beam is looking for an experienced analytics engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be working cross-functionally with business domain experts, analytics, and engineering teams to build and maintain our data warehouse. You will have a significant part in building a solid data foundation for a data-driven company.
What You Will Bring
You're a data analyst with an engineering mindset and a passion for data and information. You possess a strong knowledge of both data modeling and engineering. You're confident with cloud technologies and infrastructure. You're comfortable working independently while collaborating across various business and technical teams to deliver solutions. You are unafraid to tackle the unfamiliar and bring clarity to complex concepts.
What you will do:
- Work with engineering, product, and analytics teams to understand and scope requirements to improve the useability, quality, and reliability of data for the business
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to further the development of our overall data platform
- Drive the development and maintenance of our data warehouse
- Apply software engineering best practices to uplift analytics processes
- Work with the data team to develop and maintain data quality rules, documentation and definitions
What skills will help you be successul:
- Data warehousing experience, preferably with AWS or GCP at a hyper-growth company
- Proficient with Python or another programming language
- Experience regularly using BigQuery, Looker and dbt
- Advanced SQL concepts such as window functions
- BI visualization administration experience such as Tableau or Looker
- Familiarity with data pipeline platforms such as Stitch or Fivetran
- Ability to read Ruby code is a plus
- Experience working with SaaS data such as Salesforce, Hubspot, and Google Analytics is a plus
