The Role:

Beam is looking for a Senior Data Analyst  who will work cross-functionally with team leads in Sales, Finance, HR, and Accounting to ensure supplemental and variable compensation for our quota-bearing employees and business partners is calculated and distributed with accuracy, transparency, and timeliness. This highly visible role is critical in evolving our commission payout processes, creating significant opportunities for learning and growth.

What You Will Do:

    • Manage end to end supplemental compensation calculations including interpretation of contracts into quantitative functions, querying necessary data, calculating payouts, and generating auditable payouts statements
    • Prepare and review commission reports for accuracy and completeness - reconciling any issues through cross-functional collaboration
    • Ensure integrity of underlying data to enable accurate payouts
    • Ensure approval flow and documentation is thorough and complete with regard to above efforts
    • Resolve Ad-Hoc crediting and special case resolution - Weekly/Monthly 
    • Categorize issues for monthly review with Sales Ops Leadership
    • Own contract change management process, overseeing changes at term, redesigns, and communication among pertinent parties 
    • Enhance and scale Beam’s automated and auditable compensation analysis framework 
    • Scale and manage proper administration of partner and network fees
    • Build BI and spreadsheet reporting to provide visibility into commissions and rewards attainment 

What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:

    • BA/BS degree in a technical or quantitative discipline
    • 4+ years of experience in a data analyst or compensation specialist role
    • Advanced skills in SQL to query and transform large data sets
    • Advanced skills in Excel to provide financial focused reporting 
    • Ability and willingness to learn new programming language or technical skills independently
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners
    • Detail oriented with excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
    • Highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
    • Analytical, rigorous, and creative approach to solving difficult problems
    • Prior experience in the insurance industry is a plus
    • Experience building data visualizations using BI tools like Tableau or Looker a plus
